Inkless Stretch Mark Revision: Stretchmarks Look Out

I have been a cosplayer for almost 4 years and a healthcare professional for nearly 20 years and the path led me to inkless stretchmark revision a treatment under the umbrella of paramedical tattooing. I realized I could combine my passion for healthcare with my love of art to help people recover and boost confidence for their unwanted scars.
It was easy for me to relate because I've disliked the scars on my stomach since youth after birthing healthy children beginning at the age of 15. Back then, I felt alone with my stretch marks (I know very selfish to think I was that lucky) because body positivity was not on the forefront in the 2000s as many women were slender with smooth skin (Britney Spears, Beyonce, Christina Aguilar to name a few). I thought I was the only one with these scars, feeling I deserved them for hiding my pregnancy and gaining over 45 pounds in the last trimester. I decided to do what most women do to hide scars, get a tattoo to camouflage my "hideous" stomach.
Did you know that younger people are more prone to getting stretch marks?

Fast forward through life's ups and downs. I moved out of my small town, met the love of my life at an airport, got married, settled in the Houston suburbs, completed every possible degree, became a grandmother, and at 40, decided I had time to focus on my body. I applied for a cosmetic surgery credit card and got approved. I visited a top-ranked plastic surgeon in Houston, who, along with his surgeon wife, suggested a tummy tuck, breast augmentation with implants, and a Brazilian butt lift for $22,000. This surgery would remove my c-section scar, unwanted stretch marks, and alter a tattoo, leaving the Texas panhandle on my bikini line including a small linear scar underneath my nipple, which could be covered with a tattoo and only seen when I was being intimate.
Though I imagined happiness with a new body, I hesitated to make another big mistake like my first tattoo covering my stretch marks. This led me to explore other options, and I discovered camouflage tattoos, but no one locally offered the treatment. Years later, I saw an Instagram ad for camouflage tattoos and contacted the business, but got no response. A few years later, I saw another ad for a class on the treatment, contacted them immediately, and was sitting in the class three weeks later.
After attending a two-day workshop, I learned about the practice and discovered that you can get either an inkless or a camouflage tattoo, depending on the scar's texture. My inner arm stretch marks are light and thin, suitable for a camouflage tattoo, while my stomach stretch marks are long and deep, requiring inkless stretch mark revision. This treatment smooths the texture and lessens the appearance of scars although it may need brightening later followed by a camouflage to match my pigmentation.
I took a photo of my stomach the day before my 43rd birthday and decided to give myself an inkless tattoo the day of my birthday but only on the right side on the right side of my stomach leaving the left side as a controlled group. What transpired over the next couple of days made me nervous, even though I knew what to expect, as it brought back insecurities about my stretch marks.

Initially, my stomach was red and sensitive, followed by itching and dark pigmentation. I used Aquaphor and did red light therapy for 20 minutes daily for the first week. After that, it seemed like nothing was changing as I continued to take pictures of my stomach each day to document the progress.
The following is an image of a patient who came out of the dark phase of the inkless stretchmark revision within 5 weeks. Factors that possibly gave them a faster turn around time includes their age (early 20s), depth of the stretchmark (it was faint), and skin elasticity.

Inkless Stretch Mark Revision Aftercare

To optimize my results, I implemented several strategies. During the first week, I engaged in red light therapy for 20 minutes and applied moisturizer afterward. I also avoided activities that could irritate my skin, such as hot baths, sunbathing, and excessive sweating.
However, I developed a passion for weight training, which positively impacted my skin. Weight training indirectly tightened my stomach and made my stretch marks less noticeable, although the texture remained unchanged. The inkless tattoo reduced the visibility of the stretch marks, but the dark pigmentation persisted, with a slightly smoother texture. I will continue to document the progress on one side of my stomach to observe the overall difference.
